USFF IT Challenges within the Constraints of DoD FY 12 Budget

Captain Schroeder serves as the Director of CIS Operations, N62 for U.S. Fleet Forces Command. CAPT Schroeder assumed these duties in June, 2010.

After commissioning, Captain Schroeder completed Communication Officer School Ashore at NETC Newport Rhode Island with a follow on tour at Naval Telecommunication Station in Rota, Spain as a Communication Watch Officer and NOCC Officer. Her next tour was the Naval Computer and Telecommunication Command Headquarters in Washington, D.C. as Training Officer, followed by the Naval Construction Battalion in Port Hueneme, CA. She then attended the Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey California, graduating with a MS - Information Technology Management.

Her next assignment was the Operational Liaison Division Head at Navy Center for Tactical Systems Interoperability (NCTSI) headquarters in San Diego, California where she fleeted up to the Comptroller Department Head Position. During her tour at NCTSI, she was selected for redesignation to the newly created Restricted Line - Information Professional. Captain Schroeder was then assigned as the Staff Communication Officer, Captain, Carrier Strike Group Three for the CARL VINSON Strike Group. Deployed from January 2003 to September 2003, she served in the 7th Fleet Area of Operations as CTF 70 Communication Officer supporting FOAL EAGLE, TANDEM THRUST AND ULCHI FOCUS LENS exercises.

Next Captain Schroeder was assigned to Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Puget Sound, WA as Executive Officer. She took over as Officer in Charge when the command was renamed Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Detachment Puget Sound, WA. Next she was assigned as Assistant Chief of Staff, C5I, for Carrier Strike Group Nine on USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN out of Everett WA. Deployed to the CENTCOM AOR she served as the CTF 50 N6. CAPT Schroeder served as IP Community Manager to BUPERS-3 in Millington TN from October 2009 to June 2010.
