A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Cade graduated from Archbishop Moeller High School and the United States Naval Academy.
Mr. Cade served as a Surface Warfare Officer on active duty, completing sea-duty assignments while home-ported in Norfolk, Virginia, Bath, Maine, Charleston, South Carolina, Mayport, Florida, San Diego, California and Yokosuka, Japan. Major staff assignments included duty in Operations, Plans and Political-Military Affairs on the staff of Commander, U.S. Seventh Fleet; Special Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet; and as a program manager for U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Capabilities and Resource Integration (N8) and Readiness and Training (N4/7). He was designated a Navy Foreign Area Officer (FAO) for East Asia/Pacific during his time on active duty.
Following active duty, Mr. Cade was appointed as Deputy Executive Director, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, responsible for Fleet Readiness Enterprise management and assessment, strategic planning, and headquarters administration. U.S. Fleet Forces missions include readiness and global force management of Navy's operational forces, fleet recommendations regarding future Navy capabilities acquisition, and serving as Navy Component Commander to U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Strategic Command, and U.S. Joint Forces Command.
Mr. Cade currently serves as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Fleet Capabilities Requirements, Concepts, and Experimentation (N8/N9B) at U. S. Fleet Forces Command. He is responsible for the integration of fleet capabilities recommendations to support Navy programming and acquisition planning, transition of new capabilities into the Fleet, and development and experimentation of warfighting concepts of operations.
Mr. Cade holds masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School (Weapons Systems Curriculum) and in National Security Strategy from the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff College. He has been recognized with the Superior Civilian Service Award in addition to personal and campaign awards while on active duty.
