Mr. Jeffrey R. Brunner currently serves as the Contract and Acquisition Management Officer (CAMO) at the United States Joint Forces Command Headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia. He and his staff are responsible for a service contract portfolio estimated at $550M annually, and interface with all service contract customers within the Command and a variety of supporting contracting offices throughout the Department of Defense and other Federal agencies. He has served most recently as the Assistant Chief of Staff and Director of Contracts and Logistics at the Naval Personnel Development Command, Norfolk, VA, and Fleet Support Division Director in the Contracting Department of the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk, VA.
Mr. Brunner spent several years as the Executive Director of the Naval Center for Acquisition Training in Norfolk, a component of the Naval Postgraduate School, and as the Associate Dean of the Norfolk Campus of the Defense Acquisition University. His additional extensive contracting experience includes Contracts Office Head at the Naval Sea Combat Systems Engineering Station, Norfolk, VA; Senior Contract Administrator, VSE Corporation, Alexandria and Chesapeake, VA; Contracting Officer, Deputy Competition Advocate, and Contracts Division Director, Naval Supply Center Norfolk, VA; Contracting Officer, Naval Regional Contracting Center (now FISC DET), Philadelphia, PA; and Contract Specialist, Aviation Supply Office (now NAVICP), Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Brunner received the 2006 Public Sector Partner of the Year award from the Professional Services Council, the Northern Virginia Government Contractors Council, and Washington Technology as a result of his role in founding and participating in two Tidewater Virginia organizations dedicated to intra-Governmental, intra-Industry, and Government/Industry collaboration that have strengthened Government partnerships with the private sector and fostered change in the procurement community. He is a charter member of the Tidewater Association of Service Contractors (TASC), and the Tidewater Government Industry Council (TGIC), currently serving as Government Co-Moderator of the latter.
He is qualified as an expert witness on Government contracting matters in the Federal courts, previously taught Government contracting courses for the University of Virginia, and lectured on various contracting topics at the law schools of both The College of William and Mary and Regent University. He is active in the National Contract Management Association where he has conducted workshops and made formal presentations at local chapter events as well as the annual NCMA World Congress. He is married to Barbara Sessoms, Principal of W.T. Cooke Elementary School in Virginia Beach, where he serves as a Volunteer in Education.
