Captain Patrick J. Bohan
Program Manager for the Virtual Integrated Support to the Information Operations eNvironment (VisIOn) program at U.S. Joint Forces Command in Suffolk, Virginia
Captain Patrick J. Bohan is the Program Manager for the Virtual Integrated Support to the Information Operations eNvironment (VisIOn) program at U.S. Joint Forces Command in Suffolk, Virginia. A native New Yorker, he earned degrees in Chemical Engineering at Manhattan College prior to joining the U.S. Navy in 1985 through Aviation Officer Candidate School. Captain Bohan was designated a Naval Flight Officer in 1986 and selected to fly the EA-6B Prowler aircraft. His operational tours were in Electronic Attack squadrons VAQ-130 and VAQ-142, and he commanded VAQ-136, forward deployed to Carrier Air Wing Five in Atsugi, Japan. His shore tours include assignments as a Joint Staff Intern and OPNAV Requirements Officer in Washington, D.C., Electronic Warfare Officer for Cruiser Destroyer Group Eight in Norfolk, Virginia, and both Operations Officer and Chief Staff Officer for the Commander, Electronic Attack Wing, U.S. Pacific Fleet at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington.
Prior to his assignment to U.S. Joint Forces Command, Captain Bohan attended the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island and the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia. Upon arrival in USJFCOM, he was assigned as the Plans and Future Operations Officer for the Information Operations Range. When USJFCOM was designated the lead component for the Information Operations Planning Capability-Joint (IOPC-J) program in November 2006, Captain Bohan became the Deputy Program Manager for IOPC-J. In April 2007, the IOPC-J and Joint Integrative Analysis and Planning Capability (JIAPC) programs were directed to merge under JFCOM oversight. In August 2007, the two programs were approved for merger into a single program named VisIOn, on schedule for initial operational capability in FY 2010 and full operational capability in FY 2012.
